I'd love an RX-8, but rotarys kinda scare me with their seals that go out at like 90k miles.

That's with the first gens. They were doom from the start since they didn't have enough oil injected to lubricate the seals. They tried to fix it with an update in 2005 but the damage was done already and it was still not enough oil. By the 2nd gen (2009+), everything was fixed. I have yet to hear about a Rx8 Series II that needs a new engine. I just saw a 135000km one and the engine was still perfect and was original. So if you ever make the jump, grab a 2009+. They are a steal!! 16k for a 2010 with 40 000 km on the clock!

I had an FC. Go for it but don't make the mistake that I did and take the cheapest out there. The FB is much more simple tho. Buy one like you would buy a Porsche or a Ferrari = get one with all the maintenance papers and do a compression test at a Mazda dealership.

I know people at a Mazda dealer, and my plan is to buy two cheap ones. My plan rhymes with cheapest four-rotor build ever.

I did, it was the first comment. I honestly think the RX-8 is nothing special, a shadow of it's predecessors. But I haven't driven it ever, so my opinion is baseless, and should be ignored.

If that's the case, screw what I said lol. I can't wait to see your build!

The correct number to place behind the Rx is '7'.

VACCUUM LINES, VACCUUM LINES EVERYWHERE! Seriously...it's too much maintenance wise. A RX8 has the right balance between practicality, maintenance and performance out of a rotary without putting turbos that will shorten it's lifespan + you get a newer chassis.

big block MPG, WHP of a Civic Si. Might be a great handling car, but so was the 7, and so is the Miata, which gives you that with 0% of the usual rotary issues.
Maintenance is going to be a bitch, but it's going to be regardless of which rotary you pick. Go big or go home.

There's something about the Rx8 R3 that just gets everything right. You see, the RX8 GT feels the same as my NC. Nothing special at all regardless of the years. Seriously I was disappointed. But when I tried the R3, it was a whole different animal. I don't know how they did it but Mazda made the RX8 I felt meh, awesome! I know the RX7 FD will probably gonna make myself cum more than the RX8 R3 did, but if I feel that the NC Miata is tiresome with all the goddamn potholes and cracks we get here....I can imagine how fucked it's gonna be in a FD. The Rx8 is the right thing for me...price wise. 16k for a 2010 R3 fully equiped model with 40k km? FUCK YES!
